Background Dr Joe Hoover joined the School of Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University in September 2016. Prior to coming to Queen Mary he was Lecturer in International Politics at City University London and Fellow in the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research interests are in political theory and global ethics, with a focus on pragmatism, democracy, human rights, global justice. Qualifications Dr Hoover has a BA in Philosophy from the University of Colorado and an MSc in Philosophy, Values and Social Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Changing disciplines, he then received his PhD in International Relations in 2011 from the London School of Economics and Political Science
