Dipl.-Pol. Julian Plottka is Research Associate at the University of Passau and Senior Researcher at the Institut für Europäische Politik in Berlin. He studied political science at the universities in Potsdam and Bergen as well as at the Free University in Berlin. In his research, he focuses on institutional reforms and the democratic legitimacy of the EU, especially on the European Citizens’ Initiative and the role of civil society organizations. He is also working on the EU’s relations with Central Asia and the Eurasian Economic Union.
