I am currently a research fellow at the Institute for Intercultural and International Studies and a member of the Collaborative Research Center “Global Dynamics of Social Policy” (CRC 1342) at the University of Bremen, Germany. I hold a doctorate in political science from the University of Tübingen and have worked and researched in Rabat, Cairo and Tunis. I have published on contentious politics and autocratic legitimacy, youth activism and, most recently, social policy in the Middle East and North Africa. At the ECPR General Conference in 2021, I chaired the section "The internationalised politics of welfare".
