I am a PhD researcher at the University of Bremen. My dissertation uses an intersectional approach to explore the inclusion of social groups into the welfare state by conducting a discourse analysis of social policy legislation of Spain. I take a look at sequences of inclusion, the construction of groups from a State perspective, and the legitimation processes behind such inclusions. I studied political science in Colombia, where I worked with marginalized communities combing applied social science research with activism, mostly around the Colombian Peace Process. I completed my master program in development studies in Germany, after which I conducted research on press freedom on authoritarian regimes at the University of Passau. I am currently a member of the research project Group Inclusion and Social Policies Over Time at University of Bremen. Some of my favorite things in life are having coffee with friends / colleagues, jogging, enjoying nature and reading science fiction and fantasy novels.
