About

Lilijana Čičkarić is a Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of Social Sciences in Belgrade, Serbia. She served as a head of the Center for Sociological and Anthropological Research between 2017 and 2022. She is one of the experts at the Forum of the European Institute for Gender Equality, the president of the Section for Feminist Research and Masculinity Studies at the Serbian Sociological Association and the winner of the Anđelka Milić Prize for the best feminist study in 2016. She is the co-founder of the Research Network on Gender and Politics in South East Europe (GenPolSEE). Her fields of research interests are: quotas and gender politics in parliament; political representation of women; women’s leadership strategies; women’s movements; right-wing movements and anti-gender politics; violence against women in politics; gender inequality in science and research. She does interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research on gender and politics and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Belgrade and the University of Novi Sad. She was the visiting scholar at the University of Oslo, Institute for Advanced Studies at University of Amsterdam, Queen’s University Belfast, LSE and University of London. As a Fulbright scholar, she was a visiting researcher and lecturer at the University of Massachusetts, Harvard University and Boston University. She has published extensively, monographs, edited volumes and numerous articles in journals and international publications.
