About

Matteo Bassoli after obtaining a M.sc. in Economics and Sociology from the Bocconi University, was awarded a PhD in Political Science from the University of Pavia (2007) while working in two different research institutes (URGE-Turin, POLEIS Bocconi-Milan). From 2007 to 2014, as post-doc at the Bocconi University, he undertook research on local policy-making and the involvement of private stakeholders, focusing on different fields of intervention: unemployment, poverty and social inclusion. In 2014 he was awarded the position of assistant professor at the eCampus University where he taught Public Administration and Public policy, in 2019 he moved to the University of Padua, where he serves now as Associate Professor of Political Science. He was visiting scholar at the University College of London, University of Essex, University of Helsinki, Université Libre de Bruxelles and Cevipof – SciencesPo. He has written extensively on governance and local participation: two authored books in Italian (one with P. Graziano on the policies of corporate social responsibility promotion, one on youth associational participation with L.Monticelli and C. Pincella) and an important edited volume on local governance in Italy (with E. Polizzi). He has also published on different aspects of urban governance, democratic settings and local policy-making in the following journals: Acta Politica, International Journal of Comparative Sociology, IPSR/RISP Italian Political Science Review, IJURR International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, Governance, Journal of Social Policy, Partecipazione e Conflitto, Social Movement Studies, Social Policy & Administration, Voluntas.
