My research focuses on Democratic Theory and International Political Theory. I approach normative, especially institutional questions in a mindset that combines elements from Critical Theory and neo-Kantian political thought. A current research project examines whether the notion of constituent power can be usefully employed for polities and protest movement beyond the state. Besides my work in contemporary political theory, I have an interest in the political philosophy of the late and post-Enlightenment, especially Kant, Bentham, and J.St. Mill.
