Reinhard Heinisch is Professor of Austrian Politics in Comparative European Perspective and Head of the Department of Political Science at the University of Salzburg, Austria. He received his degrees from the Universities of Vienna (B.A. equivalent 1986), Virginia Tech (M.A. 1989), and Michigan State (PhD 1994). Subsequently, he served as Professor of Political Science and Director of International Studies with the University of Pittsburgh/Johnstown Campus (1994-2009). He works on comparative populism and party politics with a specialization on Austrian politics. He has courrently co-editing a special issue of Comparative European Politics on Populism and Territoy: His most recent publications are with O. Mazzoleni & C. Holtz-Bacha. Political Populism, a Handbook (Nomos 2017) , “Returning to Europe: Between Europhilia and Euroscepticism in East European Party Politics.” In, The Routledge History of East Central Europe since 1700. A. S. Klimo et al. (eds.) (Routledge 2017); with O. Mazzoleni.
