I am originally from Lebanon and was trained in Europe (France and Germany). I have worked for over a decade in the US and now I am back in Europe, working in Sweden. My research is mainly about the Middle East. Within that region, I work on political elites, gender, and ethnic and sectarian conflict. My first book was about elites and political reconstruction following conflict in Lebanon ( see Pax Syriana: Elite Politics in Postwar Lebanon, Syracuse U Press, 2012) and I am currently trying to finish a book project on women and political representation in the Arab World.
