Dr Ruth Lightbody is a Senior Lecturer in Politics at Glasgow Caledonian University. Ruth’s principle research interests are deliberative democracy and public participation, and how they can be used to implement policy changes which tackle social inequalities and environmental issues. Her most recent work has explored two key areas. The first focuses on the tensions between equality and community engagement and the second, explores the role and experiences of experts in deliberative processes.
