About

Sergio is a Political Scientist born in Bilbao (Spain) who obtained his Degree in Political Science at University of the Basque Country in 2009. Two years later he joined the Research Group Euskobarometro, at the same University thanks to an Spanish Government Competitive Grant for Doctoral Researchers. In 2011 he obtained his Masters Degree in Governance and Political Studies at University of the Basque Country and one year later, in 2012, he joined the Spanish Government's Centre for Sociological Research (Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas, CIS) where he got a masters in Social Research and Data Analysis. By the end of 2014 he succesfully defended his Ph.D. Thesis about local empowerment and Intergovernmental Relations in the Basque Country and Spain. After that, he joined the Political Science Department at University of the Basque Country as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Since september 2015 he joined the University of Burgos, where he is a Full Professor and develops his researches.
