2018 Joint Sessions of Workshops, Nicosia

The 2018 Joint Sessions of Workshops took place at the Univerity of Nicosia, Cyprus.  Nicosia was also the location of the 2006 Joint Sessions, which back then was hosted by Intercollege Nicosia, just one year before it became the University of Nicosia.

Twenty-nine Workshops covered a varying range of subjects, and you can browse the full list, plus a synopsis of the Workshops and the Papers presented, in the Academic Programme.

The Workshops were of course complemented by an interesting plenary programme which included the Stein Rokkan lecture by Kevin Featherstone (The London School of Economics and Political Science) on Understanding the Domestic Challenges to the Governance of the European Union.

During the official welcome, the 2017 Jean Blondel PhD Prize was awarded to Verena Wisthaler (University of Leicester and EURAC Research) and the 2017 Rudolf Wildenmann Prize to Dorothee Riese (Leipzig University) – congratulations to them both.

The Joint Sessions always provide an ideal forum for international scholars to share ideas, to network, and to make new contacts with scholars who share their very specific research interests. This strong sense of community was also reflected in social media ─ Twitter proved a popular medium for participants to share their experiences of the event.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the local organising team of Emilios Solomou, Constantinos Adamides, Michalis Kontos and Irene Koliandri, amongst others, for their hard work helping to put together the 2018 ECPR Joint Sessions of Workshops.
