European Conference on Politics and Gender (ECPG)

7 – 9 July 2021, University of Ljubljana

  #ECPG2021

For the first time ever, the European Conference on Politics and Gender (ECPG) is scheduled to be held in South-Eastern Europe at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia from 7–9 July 2021.

While we are actively preparing for a physical ECPG in Ljubljana, we also appreciate that the world is still facing much uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, should it be no longer feasible or safe for us to organise a face-to-face event, we are planning to adopt a hybrid, or fully virtual format. We are committed to ensuring that, regardless of the circumstances, the ECPG 2021 still takes place, in a safe setting.

About the Conference

As Europe’s biggest gathering of politics and gender scholars, the ECPG provides a platform for lively discussion, exchange of ideas and best practices in the discipline. The conference aims to cover the full range of topics in the field of politics and gender broadly conceived to include any gender, sexuality and intersectional perspectives in political science, international relations, political theory and philosophy, research methods, public policy and public administration, and social movements. It aims to attract scholars globally, and at all stages of their career. The ECPG particularly welcomes participation of early career scholars and scholars who are underrepresented in the profession.

About the Standing Group

The ECPR Standing Group on Gender and Politics forms a broad-based network on issues relating to the study of gender and sexuality in politics and world politics. The Group actively encourages workshops, panels and research groups with an emphasis on gender and seeks to increase the profile of women in the main fields of political science.
