7th Conference of the ECPR Standing Group on Parliaments

30 June – 2 July 2022, Sciences Po, Paris

  @SG_Parliaments

Registration for this event has now closed.

Inspiring platform, invaluable experience

Our Standing Group on Parliaments is delighted to introduce its 7th Conference, to be hosted by the Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics (CEE) at Sciences Po, Paris.

This focused, inspiring gathering offers an invaluable experience for scholars interested in studying legislatures, from across all regions and methodological backgrounds.

Connect with scholars at all stages of their career

Away from the hectic bustle of large-scale conferences, the event will provide opportunities for in-depth discussions and fruitful networking.

The academic programme will be complemented by social activities including a visit to the French parliament on the first day and a conference dinner on the second. You will have ample opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new Standing Group members.

In light of the postponement of our Summer School due to the ongoing restrictions, the organisers hope to be able to offer participating PhD students additional opportunities for mentoring by experts in the field.

Call for proposals

As proved successful at previous conferences in Dublin, Vienna, Munich, Basel and Leiden, the exact thematic and regional range of Papers is deliberately broad.

The organisers invite proposals that deal with the empirical study of parliaments and legislatures:

  • individual Papers
  • complete Panels, ideally comprising 3-4 Papers

To make a proposal, you must have a My ECPR profile. If you don’t already have one, it takes just a few clicks to create.

Submissions are accepted between Tuesday 1 February and Monday 28 February

You will hear about the outcome of your proposal by early April.

Registration fees

  • Standard €200
  • PhD Student - Free participation

Grants will be offered to early career scholars and those who are not affiliated with a research university . If you are likely to require a grant, please get in touch with our Events Team for further details.
