Summer School of the Standing Group on Interest Groups

The Summer School on Interest Groups is organised annually by our Standing Group on Interest Groups. It brings together leading scholars in the fields of interest group politics and civil society to deliver a nine-day intensive course on the core aspects of interest group research.

This year's edition aims at developing interest group research in a truly comparative perspective, focusing on interest group politics in different polities.

  • Get all the tools necessary to embark on academic research in interest groups politics
  • Learn about cutting-edge approaches and acquire analytical skills for studying interest group activities 
  • Present your research and obtain feedback from internationally renowned scholars in the field 
  • Gain 6 ECTS credits if you participate in all sessions, complete class assignments and present a research Paper*

*You must submit your full Paper to obtain your ECTS credits. If your application is successful, you will receive instructions on how to do this. 

Applications

The Summer School is open to all students already enrolled in a PhD programme and advanced MA students with a keen interest in interest groups research.

You will be required to write and submit a research Paper to be presented at the Summer School as part of the discussion sessions, by 30 May. 

English is the working language of the Summer School; you are expected to have a good command of written and spoken English.

Your registration is not confirmed until your application has been accepted by the Summer School coordinator and your payment received in full.

The call for applications opens on Monday 28 March.

Partial or incomplete applications will not be processed. Late applications will not be accepted.

You will be informed about the outcome of your application by email, before Monday 9 May.
