About

Organised in collaboration with Goethe-University Frankfurt and TU Darmstadt, the Summer School of our Standing Group on Parliaments serves as a dynamic learning hub for PhD students and early career scholars engaged in the study of national, regional and/or transnational parliaments. The event is designed to enhance your theoretical and analytical skills while providing an avenue for receiving constructive feedback on your work from esteemed academics and peers.

Throughout the two-week programme, you will attend lectures that delve into a wide spectrum of the most relevant topics within legislative studies, covering both substantive and methodological considerations.

What to expect

  • A dedicated team of workshop directors
  • Eight teaching days
  • Daily lectures delivered by leading scholars
  • Student presentations each day
  • Leisure time to explore Frankfurt
  • Visits to the Hesse State Parliament in Wiesbaden and to the historical St. Paul’s Church which hosted the first German Parliament in 1848/49 – the Frankfurt Assembly.

What you will learn
