About

This course introduces you to regression analysis using R. You will explore the classical theory of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression, along with non-linear regression techniques. Through the use of various data sets and models, you will gain an understanding of when and how regression can be valuable in policy analysis and other contexts.

The course is delivered using a combination of pre-course activities, live online interaction and post-class activities. An RStudio Cloud account will be provided for data and setup. Daily three-hour live sessions (on Zoom) will feature class discussions, Q&A, group exercises and tutorials on the application of regression analysis to political science questions.

You must have a basic understanding of probability. Basic knowledge of R would also be useful. If you don't have this knowledge, consider taking the Introduction to Inferential Statistics course.

ECTS Credits

3 ECTS credits awarded for engaging fully in class activities.
1 additional ECTS credit awarded for completing a post-course assignment.
