Travel

Sciences Po is in the 7th arrondissement (borough) of Paris, and two campus locations of Sciences Po will be used for the conference: 27 Rue Saint Guillaume and 9 Rue de la Chaise. 

The city is easily accessible for international travellers and is served well by it's public transport network.  See below for links to transport websites with all the information you'll need to arrive into and get around the city.

Getting to the City by...

Air

If you're flying into Paris, check your arrival airport website for the best way to get into the city centre: Charles de Gaulle Airport or Orly Airport

Train

If you are travelling into Paris by train and need a connection into the city centre, use the public transport RATP website, or download the RATP app for details on Metro lines or Bus routes into the city. 

Eurostar

Eurostar arrives in Paris at Gare du Nord.  Use the public transport RATP website, or download the RATP app for details on Metro lines or Bus routes into the city. 

Bus

If you are travelling within Europe, it may be more economical to travel by long distance bus.  You can compare bus tickets on ComparaBus, or the following bus services all operate in Paris: Flixbus, Ouibus, Eurolines, Isilines.

Car

If you're considering driving into the city, please have a look at the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau website for advice on driving around Paris and for details on parking.

Getting around the City by...

The public transport network serves the entire city and all of its suburbs.  The public transport RATP website and the RATP app details all public transport options for both the city and the Parisian region.

Metro

The Metro is the cheapest, easiest and fastest way to get around Paris. Tickets are available from ticket offices or machines at metro stations, and also some convenience shops. Metro stops closest to the conference venue are:

  • Saint-Germain-des-Prés on line 4 (Porte de Clignancourt - Porte D'Orleans)
  • Rue du Bac on line 12 (Porte de la Chapelle - Mairie d'Issy)

Bus

For a bus routes map, or to buy tickets, check the public transport page on the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau. Bus routes which stop near to the conference venue are:

  • 39 (Gare du Nord / Issy-Freres Voisin)
  • 48 (Palais Royal / Porte des Lilas)
  • 63 (Porte de la Muette / Gare de Lyon)
  • 70 (Radio France / Hotel de Ville)
  • 86 (Saint-Germain des Pres / St-Mande Parc Zoologique)
  • 87 (Porte de Reuilly / Champs de Mars)
  • 94 (Gare Montparnasse / Levallois Louison Bobet)
  • 95 (Porte de Vanves / Porte de Montmartre)
  • 96 (Gare Montparnasse / Porte des Lilas)

Taxi

If you want to use a taxi to get around Paris, you can hail a cab, go to a taxi rank or call a taxi firm.  Make sure you take only a licensed taxi; for details, on how to recognise an official taxi please visit the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau website.
