Data is the lifeblood of quantitative social science research. At ECPR, we are exploring a number of ways to support the discipline in gathering, analysing, using and sharing data. Our longest-standing data initiative is the Political Data Yearbook, which contains comprehensive and authoritative data and analysis of electoral results, national referenda, changes in government, and institutional reforms for a range of countries. Experts also provide commentary and analysis of the developments in each country.

Attached to the PDY is also the PDYinteractive, a unique data source building on PDY content. It provides the data in a fully searchable and downloadable format, allowing users to view and customise data views. Explore an example of data, this from the Czech Republic, below!

Last year at our General Conference, we hosted two panels with our PDY team and publisher Wiley, focussing on data and the opportunities and challenges the discipline faces in utilising it.
