Currency

The Norwegian Kroner (NOK) is the Norwegian currency, which is divided into 100 øre (cents). Bank notes are issued in 50/100/200/500/1000 kroner.

Tourist Information        

The Tourist Information office is located next to Oslo central station. The opening hours are Monday - Sunday 09:00-18:00. For more information please view their website.

The Oslo Pass provides travel on all public transport and free entry to many attractions and museums. Passes can be preordered online and collected from the Oslo visitor centre.

Banks

Most banks are open from 09:00-15:30 on weekdays. They are generally closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Dentist - an emergency dental clinic is located on the 3rd floor of Galleriet at Oslo Bus Terminal, which is open every day.

Medical centre - Oslo Emergency Ward, Storgata 40, Oslo (+47 116 117) which is open 24 hours.

Pharmacy - (translated as Apotek) Apotek 1 at the Emergency Ward and Jernbanetorvets Apotek, located opposite Oslo Central station are both open 24 hours a day.

Tipping

In restaurants and bars it is usual to tip around 6-10% if you are happy with the service. However, tipping is uncommon in hotels.
