Abstract

The role of framing in social movements and political participation is crucial to determine activists' ability to reach their goals. Social movement actors, indeed, constantly engage in the production of collective action frames that support the spread of resonant movement narratives within and beyond activists circles. This panel discusses which is the role of framing strategies and movement narratives in different types of mobilizations across the world, also paying attention to the role of media outlets and digital media in the elaboration and diffusion of collective action frames and social movement narratives.
