How do people decide to engage in unconventional forms of political participation? And which are, on the contrary, the main constraints that prevent mobilizations and other forms of political engagement to attract participants? Also, which contextual factors sustain the politicization of collective actions? This panel seeks to answer these questions through papers that explore the relevance and intersection of different individual aspects as well as specific dimensions of the context in which collective action unfold.
