Radical Politics in and Beyond the Media Sphere

Abstract

This panel offers novel insights in the role of offline- and online media on the visibility, success and radicalization of the far-right, and on the framing of its issues. It brings together papers that address how responses of offline media can mitigate the success of the far-right, and how online environments shape far-right mobilization and framing. The main goal will be to illustrate the linkages between online platforms and the radicalization of far-right parties, the strategies and frames proposed by these actors and the political attitudes of their sympathizers and supporters.
