Abstract

This panel aims to shed light on initiatives developed to counter corruption, increase transparency, and hold elite members accountable, opening room for assessing diagnostic and prognostic frames as well as exploring practices. We encourage papers discussing the role of technology, particularly digital media —and how it has been used by citizens—, and assessing circumstances under which civil society gets together. Overall, the goal is to discuss how citizen’s voices are more likely to be heard and to make a difference in the fight against corruption. Therefore, the panel offers comparative and single-case papers addressing the topic from different perspectives and lines of thought and also with both theoretical as well as empirical approach.
