Abstract

Identity – how someone sees themselves and their social context – lies at the core of many phenomena we observe in international politics, both directly, in the formation of foreign policy, and indirectly, as a decisive factor in how constituents choose their leaders. This panel looks at different ways in which identities are formulated and conceptualized, including ideology and populism, and their role in domestic and foreign policies.
