The Roundtable “Contemporary Intersectional Feminist Activisms in Europe and Beyond” concludes the 2022 edition of the European Conference on Politics and Gender. At this Roundtable, we will discuss how intersectional feminists have affirmed themselves as agents of change and created alternative forms of collective political resistance at the global level. Two main questions will drive our conversation: first, what are the main claims, struggles and possibilities of contemporary intersectional feminisms; and second, how shall we, as scholars, address intersectional feminist activisms in our research – theoretically, methodologically and empirically. These issues will be debated from several intersectional feminist perspectives, locations and positionalities. Namely, Jean Beaman (University of California) and Nadia Brown (Georgetown University) will focus on Black Feminism, Iman Lechkar (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) on Islamic Feminism, Celeste Montoya (University of Colorado) on Latinx Feminism, Angéla Kóczé (Central European University) on Romani Feminism, and Rukmini Sen (Ambedkar University Delhi) on South-Asian and Indian Feminisms. Moderated by Serena D'Agostino (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), this Roundtable is sponsored by Bristol University Press and EJPG.
