Critical Policy Discourse Analysis, was published in 2019 and is a collection of chapters which make the case for bringing critical discourse analysis together with interpretive and critical policy analysis. The book also demonstrates, through several ‘cases’ practical applications of critical policy discourse analysis to various policy areas, including education policy, business and economic policy, and language policy, among others. The book provides a series of contemporary and international policy case studies analysed through discursive methodological approaches in the traditions of critical discourse analysis, social semiotics and discourse theory. This is the first volume that connects this discursive methodology systematically to the field of critical policy analysis and will therefore be an essential book for researchers who wish to include a discursive analysis in their critical policy research. In this panel, critics to engage with the editors of, and contributors to, the book. Critics give their appraisal of the book and thoughts on future directions of the critical policy discourse analysis approach.
