Abstract

The concept of political affective polarization has gained significant attention in recent years, particularly in the context of the growing political divide in many countries around the world. This conference panel aims to delve deeper into the concepts and manifestations of political affective polarization. Broadly speaking, affective polarization refers to the emotional divide between individuals or groups who hold different political views. However, we still struggle understanding its origin and multifaceted nature. This panel aims to provide a deeper understanding of the concepts and manifestations of political affective polarization, and to discuss potential solutions to reduce its negative impacts on society.
