Abstract

Ensuring a socially just and effective climate transition will require citizens involvement - not just to ensure sufficient legitimacy to implement climate change policies but also to harvest creativity, drive innovation and implement tailored solutions. This panel brings together research that maps options for engaging citizens in the cllimate transition from a diverse set of country cases and at different levels of government. Thereby, it explores how climate policy is negotiated between citizens, implemented by citizens and responsive to citizens.
