Environmental policy is increasingly becoming a prominent issue in electoral campaigns, and political parties are taking distinct positions on environmental issues. This panel explores the intersection of party politics and environmental issues through a collection of papers covering a variety of questions related to the development and positioning of parties in relation to ‘green’ issues, and party dynamics in relation to elections. The papers draw on, among other things, party manifestos and political speeches, to explore these issues and deepen our understanding of the role of party politics in shaping environmental policy.
