Abstract

In this panel, we aim to showcase our recently published special issue titled 'Intersectional (Feminist) Activisms Worldwide: Practices, Experiences, and Critical Perspectives' (JWPP 2023). Specifically, our focus delves into four significant contributions exploring the intersectional (political) dynamics within the International Women’s Strike, the activism of Muslim women in Germany, LGBTQIA* organizations in Italy and Spain, and the roles of women in Kosovo. Our discussion in this panel revolves around two primary inquiries: firstly, examining the claims, struggles, and possibilities of contemporary intersectional feminisms; and secondly, contemplating how scholars should approach intersectional feminist activisms in their research - encompassing theoretical, methodological, and empirical considerations. These subjects are discussed through several intersectional feminist perspectives, locations and positionalities.
