Abstract

Studying actors and their practices requires specific methods. This panel presents approaches not often used in actor-focused analyses in EU studies such as network analysis, text-as-data, narrative analysis and process tracing to discuss how these may bring new data and understandings to the study of the EU. It applies these methods to discuss populist parties, civil society actors or subregional governmental networks.
