Abstract

As cities become more populated and congested the pressure of designing smart and sustainable living environments has increased. This panel focuses on urban sustainability and how cities create and implement successful strategies for general city development. This includes urban mobility plans, smart city concepts such as the urban digital social contract, and the general challenges of social coexistence. Thus it looks at the design, implementation, and outcomes of proximity-based urban policies, that aim for inclusive governance in a smart and sustainable way.
