This panel examines how climate change is reshaping global mobility patterns and how the European Union—together with international institutions such as the UN, IOM, UNHCR, and within the Global Compact frameworks—is redefining its governance responses. While climate-related mobility is increasingly recognised in EU and international policy documents, significant gaps remain in legal protection, policy coherence, and multilateral coordination. The panel invites contributions exploring the global governance of climate (im)mobility; the role of EU and Member State policies; the interaction between climate, development, and migration agendas; and the implications for protection, vulnerability, and human rights. Empirical and theoretical papers, including case studies from the Mediterranean, Africa, and vulnerable coastal or island regions, are particularly welcome.
