Abstract

This panel examines the transnationalisation of the radical and illiberal right in Europe, analysing how actors once considered firmly rooted in national contexts increasingly operate across borders. Bringing together conceptual and empirical perspectives, the panel explores the diverse strategies through which radical right organisations seek legitimacy, mobilise supporters, and build influence beyond their domestic arenas. As such, it sheds new light on the cross‑border alliances, narratives, and political practices that underpin Europe’s evolving illiberal ecosystem, offering a deeper understanding of how radical right actors coordinate, learn, and adapt within an increasingly interconnected political landscape.
