Abstract

This panel critically explores various aspects related to discursive constructions around migration, including how national politics, media narratives, and public contestation shape migration-related perceptions and outcomes across multiple levels. As such, the papers included in the panel analyse coordination failures in European migration governance, the embedding of migration within broader policy controversies, and the role of media in constructing mobility aspirations and security-related narratives.
