Abstract

Recent publications in the field of electoral research show that established measures and methods fall short when it comes to analysing the postmodern voter. Late-deciders and swing voters have become rather the common case due to the ongoing partisan dealignment process. Understanding the decision process is one major challenge for today’s research on voting behavior. In addition, research on framing effects has enhanced our understanding of the complex interactions within political campaigns. We would like to encourage a more daring engagement with electoral research. This involves experimental designs as well as advanced data analysis like structural equation modelling and multilevel regression analysis. We welcome submissions that focus on new operationalization of existing concepts as well as employ innovative methods and research designs that will shed light on the voters' decision-making process.
