Abstract

This panel focuses on regional autonomy, self-determination, and ethnic and cultural policies. In the Arctic there are several regions that include minority groups. For some regions, i.e. the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Nunavut, that enjoys regional autonomy while others, i.e. the Sami people are still integrated parts of the nation-state. This panel will focus on the indigenous groups in the Arctic and the strive for self-determination, for education and for economic development.
