Abstract

The papers in this panel examine how various political attitudes and values influence party choice. One paper examines whether various value orientations can explain the relationship between social class and party choice. Other papers focus on how various attitudinal dimensions influence party choice and attitudes towards EU. Other papers examine party system instability in Europe by addressing the electoral fortune of the radical right parties in particular and, finally, one paper addresses the question of individual level sources of variation in performance voting due to political sophistication and personality traits.
