Abstract

The panel looks at how party organizational features matter in parliament and in government. With regards to parliament, the panel focuses on how party features such as level of resources or structure affect individual legislators’ style of representation and propensity to party switching. It also looks at how public and legislator perceptions of parties vary across parties. With regards to government, the panel investigates how party features mediate the relationship between voters’ expectations and perceptions of democratic performance and accountability processes.
