The European identity has been subject of normative and critical inquiry for some time. This panel explores newer and older aspects of the subject at hand. It focuses on the issues of regional identity, the role of the peace narrative for the construction of the EU identity, the mobility of non-EU students as a strategy to strengthen EU identity and the space and territory map of the EU identity imagination. All papers reflect the variety of methodological and conceptual approaches to European identity research and problematize future research venues.
