Southern Europe has nominally exited the decade-long economic crisis that disproportionately affected the region. The aim of this panel is to explore the extent and nature of the many social and political transformations, still ongoing, that have occurred in Southern Europe over the last ten years, as well as their implications. In particular, drawing on rich empirical evidence from the region, papers explore recent evidence in relation to protest participation, electoral behaviour and representation of low-skilled workers, and the links between trade union membership and political behaviour. The panel is organised on behalf of the ECPR Standing Group on South Europe.
