This panel focuses on comparatively assessing the politics and policies of asylum governance in Europe and beyond. In doing so, the papers included in the panel closely examine the main challenges regarding the EU’s asylum system based on shared responsibility, as well as the institutional and political responses of national governments in the management of the so-called “refugee crisis”.
