One of the main problems of Russian foreign policy is it negative international image associated with state corruption, unfair trials, an authoritarian political system and a lack of justice. The Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games are the biggest mega-event that can show all guests the "real" Russia. Thus, the Sochi 2014 can be considered an important element of Russian soft power. It is necessary for country image to conduct this Olympic Games perfect and fair, without any scandals, even if there are provocations of any groups. From efforts of Russia to help sportsmen from all around the world to achieve their best results to ability of international sport judges to provide fair and impartial referring. The aim of this paper is to present a comparative analysis of Russian international image before and after the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
