The present Paper examines data from different sources like the UNHCR, IMO, EuroBarometer, and EP Votewatch to shed light on the legitimacy and effectiveness of the EU migration crisis management. The EU leaders have lived up to the expectations of the European citizens by a tortuous decision-making process that ended up with a crisis management aimed at repelling migrants. Such management will unroll its effects on a long time and wide scope. The present analysis aims at exploring the early phase of this long-range development.
