Aspects of Justice in Kant's Philosophy

Abstract

This paper will argue that Kant's conception of and justification for the state's legislative authority rule out robust intentionalism as method of legislative interpretation. Kantians, therefore, must be textualists with respect to legislative interpretation. The paper will go on to explore what, more specifically, Kantian textualism must involve.
