Civilization, national (civic and ethnic), regional identities and their value systems in Ukraine

Identity is one of the key elements of ethnopolitical security of the state, the implementation of which requires a balance of global, national, regional and personal levels. According to the principle of geographical and spatial scale, different levels of the hierarchy of basic collective identities can be distinguished. For example, in order of increasing scale: regional – national – civilizational. For more than three decades of the existence of independent Ukraine, these levels of identities in one way or another interacted and underwent a certain transformation. Each of them has its value system and relevant significance in the context of ensuring the state's resilience to external and internal challenges.
