Abstract

This intervention explores the role of the EPSR in the EU’s emerging eco-social agenda. It analyses how the Pillar has been mobilized in the context of the Green Deal, the Just Transition Mechanism and broader sustainability-oriented reforms linking environmental and social objectives. The contribution assesses whether the EPSR offers a coherent framework for ensuring socially fair climate and industrial transitions, identifies tensions between environmental imperatives and social protection and evaluates the Pillar’s potential as an anchor for future eco-social policymaking.
