Preparing for your course

We've created this handy guide to help you every step of your Methods School experience – from getting started with Moodle to joining live sessions, to making the most of your course.

Please make sure to review this guide carefully before your course starts.

Log in to Moodle

You will have access to the Moodle course approximately 2 weeks before the course starts. Use the credentials sent to you by our Events Team to log in early and familiarise yourself with the learning environment and your course materials.

Have trouble logging in? Email methodsschool@ecpr.eu

Preparing for your courses

  1. Check if any preparatory work has been allocated to your course in Moodle, such as:
    • pre-course readings;
    • pre-recorded lectures;
    • and pre-course assignments.
    Any pre-course work must be completed before the start of your course.
  2. Class times are indicated in your course outline in CET. Familiarise yourself with the software your instructors use in class. Get started with this useful Zoom attendee controls guide.

For queries regarding content hosted on platforms outside of Moodle, please contact your Instructor via email.

You deserve a positive experience. Please take a few moments to read our Code of Conduct which outlines our expectations regarding the conduct of participants at all our events.

Connect to live sessions

All class times are in Central European Time (CET).

Step 1: Find and click on the link to your live session in your course in Moodle.
Step 2: Simply follow the prompts to get connected.

Post all about it

We'd love to hear about your Methods School experience. Share your thoughts with us on social using #ecprms.

Complete our questionnaire

Please take a few minutes to complete our course feedback questionnaire. The link to complete the questionnaire will be circulated in Moodle on the last day of your course.

Certificate of Attendance

If you have attended 100% of live sessions, you can download your Certificate of Attendance via My ECPR after you have completed your course in four simple steps:

  1. Head to My Events;
  2. Find the event you had attended;
  3. Select 'Attendance' from the drop-down list;
  4. Your PDF certificate will download automatically.

ECTS credits

Three credits

Instructors can award a maximum of three ECTS credits per course if the participant has:

  • completed all assignments issued during the course;
  • attended 100% of the live teaching sessions; and
  • engaged fully with the class activities.
Four credits

A maximum of four credits can be awarded if a participant has:

  • completed all assignments issued during the course;
  • attended 100% of the live teaching sessions; and
  • engaged fully with the class activities; and
  • completed the additional post-course task that has achieved a grade between A to D-.

If you would like to receive 4 ECTS credits, please complete the post-course assignment. All ECTS Credit Certificates will be sent approximately six weeks after the end of the course.

Please note that only those receiving 4 credits will receive a grade on the certificate. 3 credits will not include a grade.

Make the most of the course materials and pre-recorded lectures over the next few weeks. You will have access to your course in Moodle for eight weeks after the course ends.
