About the House Lectures
Just like Harbour House, our HQ in the UK, ECPR is a ‘house of many rooms’. Be it nationality, school of thought, methodological approach or stage of career, ECPR makes space for everyone, bringing people together under one roof to nurture and grow an inclusive and diverse international community.
As we step into our second half-century, we take time to reflect on our mission and consider what else can be done to help break down barriers, to provide platforms and spaces for discourse and to reach out beyond academe and shine a light on the work of our discipline.
Harbour House provides both a literal and metaphorical ‘home’ for the whole ECPR family, so it is in this spirit that we have created The House Lectures, launching December 2020 to round off our 50th Anniversary celebrations.
Our first two virtual lectures will consider threats to democracy and will be delivered by David Miller, winner of the ECPR’s Lifetime Achievement Award 2020 (1 December, 17:00 GMT) and Veronica Anghel, recipient of our inaugural Rising Star Award (2 February).
Following these first lectures, this exciting venture will present a line-up of virtual talks that seek to open doors to some of the most pressing issues and challenges today from a broad range of perspectives.
